Sky Mountain Coffee’s roots started decades ago with a passion for coffee. Founder Craig Blaney operated an independent coffee shop in the late 1990s through the early 2000s in Davidson, N.C., a college town just north of Charlotte.
The shop was a vital part of the community for six years, garnering coffee shop regulars who were nature and human-powered sports enthusiasts. Craig then took a break from the coffee world until 2009. An executive from a Mooresville, N.C. based company, approached Craig about opening a full-service coffee shop for employees.
In 2010, Sky Mountain Coffee was born, opening its first café in the corporate headquarters. To deliver this coffee experience, we focused on specialty grade, on-site roasted coffees, teas, blender drinks, and healthy snacks.
Today, Craig and Chris Newsom, Head Roaster, are bringing the Sky Mountain Coffee product to coffee lovers around the country. The same principles from Craig’s coffee shop are still part of everything we do. We believe coffee is much more than a beverage—it’s a lifestyle.
